When "Make Up" came over the sound system, Travis and Tom talked about how much they both liked Lou Reed. Tom offered to take Travis to dinner, lent her $50 to get back home and gave her a name and phone number scrawled on a napkin. "Her name's Candy," said Tom as he deciphered his own handwriting, "she lives right by West Egg, and she's a lot of fun."
