Travis retained very few memories from the period before school. However many of his dreams remained vivid. Much later, during hypnotherapy with Budd Hopkins, he concluded that he and Mary Frances had a psychic relationship. Of course, as a child this seemed very normal. He recalled meeting his mother frequently in Dreamland. In some cases she would take the shape of a clown, sometimes a balloon, and occasionally a ladybug. Travis went to bed each night with a combined sense of dread and anticipation. Travis also received secret information from the family television. He heard voices speaking in a language that he didn't understand. And it was clear that they were not coming from his mother.
